December 2008
Well done to all the winners, It was a great show. A big thanks to Donna & co for having us again and to Simon Whincup for judging for us, the WLC juding has never finished so early
lol. The entries were down slightly but I think this was because of the number of shows being held this weekend. Good news though next year South Wales Rabbit Club & WLC will be returning the show to the 2nd weekend in December, (13th December) book it in your diaries now or even better why not buy a WLC calendar which have all the Welsh show dates & most of the national show dates pre entered
I would also like to say a personal thank you to the WLC comittee for their support this year.
This weekend I wasn't feeling 100% well, so I would like to especially Thank Amanda, Dave, Kevin, Andrew and Dave (Andrews Dad) for their help with the paperwork & the show. Also for helping Donna & Co take down at the end of the show.
September 2008
Well mother nature has struck again!!! Unfortunately the Usk show was cancelled due to the severe bad weather. As the show was cancelled we have booked judge Neil Robertson for our show in December 2009. Thanks to everyone who booked in and supported us.
By now all our existing members should have received an email reminding you of the clubs 2009 yearbook. This is your yearbook if you would like to include anything jokes, special events in the shed photos etc then please email us at welshlopcircle@aol.com
This year we are hoping to include a few more pages for the juniors but I need you juniors to get involved. I need ideas, articles, Jokes, junior news etc. So please get in touch!!!
All WLC committee members now have membership, yearbook and breeders advert forms and also a copy of Cool Pet prices, so if you need anything at shows don't be shy just ask one of us.
All advert, articles & payment will need to be in by 1st november 2008. I can design adverts for you or they can be reused & edited from last year, remember you can have up to two photos on the 1/2 page adverts and upto 3 on the full page adverts.
Remember we can't make this yearbook alone, we need your help. It's your yearbook!!!!
The WLC committee and myself will be attending Anglesey show in October 2008, only as exhibitors though!!! we look forward to seeing some of you there. Yearbook, breeders adverts and 2009 membership will be taken at this show. We will also have a small stall there for merchandise and products from our sponsor cool pet. If you would like to order something specific, then please let me know before the show at welshlopcircle@aol.com prices can be found on the cool pet page.
You have one more show left for you to build on your points
I hope to see you in our December show

July 2008
Well July finally arrived, unfortunatley mother nature was not on ourside and we had alot of rain :(
Thankfully this didn't spoil the atmosphere at our shows though, we've had some fantastic entries this month.
On 5th July we were entertained by Machen Agricultural show. In previous years we've had entries between 30 - 40 lops but this year suprised everyone and we saw an entry of over 60 lops. Everyone had a great time and we welcomed quite alot of new faces, who I'm sure enjoyed their time a machen.
It was a wet and muddy day but the atmosphere was great. I hope everyone enjoyed, I know the children certainly did, they were covered in mud lol. A big thanks to Dave and Sue Fisher for coming down to judge and to all the stewards.
BIS & Best Dwarf Lop was Chris Humphreys with a stunning agouti (Atlas), Whose now got his WLC Grand Championship, well done Chris. Best Junior was Rebekah Couch with a Mini Lop. Phil & Megan Williamson did well with their Lionlops, Phil took BOB with his BEW, the first BOB given in Wales for the Lion Lop!!!
On 23rd July we were entertained by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society (Rabbit Section). This is the first time they had entertained a stock show and it all went really well. We never thought the WLC would get over 100 rabbits, but thanks to new and old members support we managed a respectable 120 rabbits, so well done all of you!!!! A big thanks also has to go to the Royal Welsh Committee and our judge Gillian Webb Bailey and stewards.
It was also a really good entry for the main show also, the show went very well and I think everyone had a good day. The atmosphere was great, even though it was very warm. WLC BIS & Best Dwarf Lop went to Shenleybrook Stud with a stunning Sooty Fawn, Well Done. Best Junior went to Zoe Day with a Mini Lop. We hope to be invited back next year, updates will follow!!!!
Once again a big thanks to all for a fab weekend.
Becca (WLC Secretary)
May 2008 On the 18th of May we had our second show of 2008, held with Anglesey Rabbit Club. The majority of the WLC committee travelled up to north Wales on Saturday, we stayed in the Premier Inn- Bangor, and it was a really comfortable stay. Before I start talking about the show, a big thanks to the Williamsons and the Lipskis for a big friendly welcome when we arrived in North Wales!! It was great to finally meet everyone, especially Keely, Kiri, Mandy & Ann (sorry to anyone I forgot) We managed to get to nose through Andrew’s barn (of course lol)before leaving to book into the hotel. A big thank you to Jane Bramley for judging and to Chris for doing her book. Also a big thank you to Garry Richardson and to Jane's husband Doug for driving them to the show, you really did save the show. The results from the show can be found on the show results page, well done to all the winners. Chris Humphreys took WLC BIS and best lop in the main show as well with her dwarf lop agouti 'Atlas'. Alys Lipski took WLC Best Junior with her lovely mini lop agouti 'Spencer'. Well done to both of you. Also a big well done to Fryos Lops, who took CC's in 3 French lop classes. The show went really well, thanks to all Andrews’ hard work bringing it all together. There were a few hiccups along the way but thanks to the help of Andrew’s Family(Jan, Dave & Alys), Mark & Elena, Ben williams, the williamsons, Rhiannon and of course the WLC committee (sorry to anyone I forgot) we got there in the end. A big thanks to Kevin (WLC Awards Officer) who after travelling all day, went down and helped set up and take down at the end of the show. Kevin ran the WLC sponsors (Cool pet) stall, which was very well supported by the majority so thank you and a big thanks to Kevin for running the stall single handed all day as well!!! Anglesey is a show definitely worth travelling for, with a stunning hall, a friendly bunch of fanciers and a brill canteen. Even though the WLC show isn't at Anglesey R.C in October, we will definitely be travelling up, with some rabbits this time. However the WLC will be back at Anglesey R.C at least once in 2009. Once again a big thanks to all for a fab weekend. Becca (WLC Secretary)
February 2008
I can't believe it's February already, time has flown by. Last Sunday we had our first show of the year held in conjunction with Welsh National R.C at Barry Island. The WNRC has a new Secretary Nicola Bray, Nicola did a fab job with the show. There was a noticeable difference in the atmosphere and it was a lot better than at previous shows, I think everyone had a fab time.
A big thanks to our Judge Ann Wheeler, for volunteering her time to the WLC and of course not forgetting her booksteward & husband Phil Wheeler. I hope you both enjoyed the show.
The raffle went really well, the winner of the Adult raffle was and the winner of the junior raffle was Aimee Jewell. Thanks for everyones support.
Our Sponser Cool Pet was there, he had a really good day. He had lots of interest in his stall and had plenty of products new and old for breeders to look at. Ian was also amazed at how much he learnt off us exhibitors about rabbit products.
